Volkswagen Touran Driven in "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift"

The Volkswagen Touran is a compact multi-purpose vehicle launched in 2003 by the German automaker, Volkswagen. Its name was derived from the combination of Tour and Sharan, the previous and bigger MPV of Volkswagen.

In the movie The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, a 2006 motion picture directed by Justin Lin and starred by Lucas Black, a Volkswagen Touran that was inspired by the Marvel Comics hero the Incredible Hulk was exposed. It was driven by Shad Gregory Moss, better known as Bow Wow, an American rapper and actor which plays the character Twinkie in the movie.

The movie is conveyed in the account of a man named Sean, played by Lucas Black. He was sent to Japan to live with his father after experiencing a street racing incident in United States which almost put him to jail. But then in his new residence, he has been hooked on to another activity that involves extreme driving. This is drifting; it refers to a driving technique and to a motor sport involving the use of the technique of turning one's car sideways. Today it is being used as a competitive pastime sport where drivers use rear wheel drive cars to earn points from judges based on various factors.

Most drift cars are light to moderate in weight. Other cars that were featured the movie were; APR Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII GSR, Ford Mustang Fastback, Chevrolet Monte Carlo, Dodge Viper SRT10 and many others. Most of these cars are rear-wheel-driven coupes and sedans.

'Matrix Reloaded' featured the 'Cadillac CTS'

General Motors redesigned the popular Cadillac CTS for 2008. On January 13, 2008, at the North American International Auto Show, General Motors unveiled a Coupe version of the CTS. It offers sporting performance and unique styling.

The Cadillac CTS's success has been credited to its appearance in “The Matrix Reloaded”. It was featured extensively in the car chase sequence. This is the first time Cadillac has featured its products in a major film.

“The 3.6L SFI is equipped with a standard 3.6-liter, V6, 263-horsepower engine that achieves 16-mpg in the city and 25-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard, and a 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is optional. The 3.6L SIDI is equipped with a standard 3.6-liter, V6, 304-horsepower engine that achieves 18-mpg in the city and 26-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard, and a 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive is optional.”

The exterior of the CTS receives a fine makeover for 2008. It’s become a bit rounder and certainly more elegant from its chrome trim. It actually looks bigger than before. The overall suspension design is unchanged, with aluminum upper and lower control arms up front. The design of the grille was pulled straight from Cadillac's sixteen concept cars some describes it as “there's a hint of forward movement throughout the design even while the car is standing still.”

The interior feels completely fresh yet still like a conventional Cadillac.

Overall, the success of the CTS is not only due to the exposure on a famous film. It delivers good performance, handsome styling and a luxurious interior, and that’s another reason for being successful. Exterior repair and modifications such as then there are problems of dents, paint, wheel alignment, changing of engine oil and their likes.

What women want: Her favorite car?

When GM was developing its newest full-size SUVs, automobile line executive Mary Sipes had team on the improvement set dress in drag for a day.

The image

They place on high heels, press-on nail with skirt finished from trash sacks in a trial to find out how several women might feel going onto and motivating a large SUV.

This experiment aided expose matters with ingress and egress, and how to place and outline controls on the middle console. Although it was just one part of a bigger procedure for appreciating what female buyer inspires.

According to Brigid O'Kane, a design lecturer and director of the Transportation Design Track program at the University of Cincinnati. "Women are more complicated than skirts, purses and nails,"

To discover which cars women like better, the team compiled two facts. One stares at luxury cars mainly driven by women, and the further ranks the on-the-whole top 10 automobiles most driven by women, in spite of whether the samples are luxury or non-luxury.

Comfort, Safety, practicality and cost are the four priorities for women car purchasers. Outer body look, style and performance are also main deal, but not inevitably more so than practicality.

A number of all-inclusive lists of automobiles with the uppermost rank of female main drivers consist of some small cars, inexpensive vehicles obtainable, for example, the Honda, Toyota Yaris and Fit, Kia Spectra. According to the source the Fit tops the list encircling all luxury and non-luxury cars, with 80.46 percent driven mainly by women.

Women aren't unaffected to the thought of regarding their vehicle as a status symbol, sources say. They just naturally aren't as over as men about stating their condition when it comes to the automobile they drive.

At 6ft 6in wide the Ferrari Testarossa was a bulky automobile to speak the least, on the other hand it can still deal with to be very light as well as very swift to drive. It is, such a great car.

Well, you just set down a fresh $300,000 on a Ferrari Testarossa plus with winter already coming, how you going to keep her warm? I think you should get her a sweater? Extreme Car Style: Hot Wheels' $14K Car

The image “http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/02/hot-wheels-jeweled-car_09_2.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Hot Wheels recently unveiled a toy car encrusted with thousands of diamonds as part of celebrating its 40th year in business.  The toy's price is set at $14,000.  Wow!  That's really a lot. With that dough, I can buy a second hand Kia if I wanted to. But then, if you are an avid collector of Hot Wheel toys and you have the money to burn, I think it can be some sort of an investment.

The toy car is encrusted all over with blue diamonds, 2,700 of them.  Apart from sporting diamonds, the car is also cast in 18-carat white gold.  With that combination, a toy car like this would surely be the centerpiece of any Hot Wheels collection.

Underneath the car, the flaming logo of Hot Wheels is also encrusted with diamonds.  The wheels are not spared too and even the engine.  I think it also comes with a commemorative badge for the 40th anniversary of the company.  Another reason for Hot Wheels coming out with this car is to celebrate the production of the four billionth toy car.

Jason Arasheben helped Hot Wheels in the creation of such a pricey toy car.  He had this to say: "Collaborating with Mattel on the jeweled Hot Wheels car was a dream project for me.  The car is truly spectacular and will be a brilliant addition to anyone's collection."

Tim Kilpin, general manager and senior vice president of Boys and Entertainment for Mattel Brands meanwhile had this to say:  "Since its introduction, Hot Wheels has revolutionized boys' toys and inspired automotive trends.  The historic activities we have planned are a fitting tribute to the brand's heritage and will allow us, and our fans, to celebrate this milestone year in true Hot Wheels style."

"This weekend is a great opportunity for car shoppers to walk into a car dealership and get a good deal. But, especially when shopping on major sales days, it's important that consumers do their research on each element of the deal, including the average transaction price of both the new car and their trade-in as well as the interest rate for which they qualify, so they are sure to save money," says Edmunds.com Senior Consumer Advice Editor Philip Reed.

http://www.newsargus.com/jims-cars/photos/2004/04/FordEscape-05.jpg http://www.newcarbuyingguide.com/images/articles/reviews/mercury/2006_Mercury_Mariner.jpg
My heading sounds like a movie title, right? But that's not what I meant for this post. It's the 2009 Ford Escape and Mercury Mariner in the state capital! Oh yeah, the newest Escape and Mariner models are on display at the 2008 Washington Auto Show. Ford.com reported that the company guarantees everyone that they will offer the hot-selling Escape and Mariner with the greatest features and standards.

"This year, we make good on our commitment to freshen our showrooms. We just introduced the new 2009 Ford F-150 last week, and it was a hit. We also have Lincoln MKS and Ford Flex coming, as well as a new Mustang early next year," says Alan Mulally, Ford Motor Company President and CEO.

Furthermore, Ford Motor Company  will develop its commitment to biofuels as well by presenting three other vehicles to its range of E-85-power-driven vehicles for next year.

"Ford Motor Company is increasing fuel economy and cutting greenhouse gas emissions with affordable technologies for millions of customers. In the near term, we will leverage existing technologies to achieve those goals, including advanced engines and multi-speed transmissions. The 2009 Escape and Mariner are great examples of how we're delivering today," says Sue Cischke, Ford senior vice president of Sustainability, Environment and Safety Engineering.

2008 What Car? Car Of The Year Award Goes To The Jaguar XF!

http://images.km.ru/auto/jaguar_concept_c_xf_1.jpg
During the most recent What Car? Awards that took place in London, the big cat brand brought home the bacon! According to Ford's press release, the all-new Jaguar XF won the event's most prestigious honor, the What Car? 2008 Car of the Year title! In addition to this, the new XF notched top place in the 'Best Executive Car' category as well.

Steve Fowler, the group editor of What Car?, said:

"For us, the XF goes straight in there with the very best cars from Jaguar's past. And given that the car market today is more competitive than it's ever been, it's fair to say the XF is the best car Jaguar has ever built. The XF really does have it all - a sensational exterior and dramatic interior combined with a drive that will delight and pamper in equal measure. On top of that, it stacks up as a sensible buying and owning proposition, too."

"All of us at Jaguar are delighted that we've taken the top spot at these awards, and that What Car? has named the new XF Car of the Year.  It's especially gratifying as What Car? has such a great reputation for representing the British consumer. Jaguar is creating a new generation of cars that started with the XK, and now continues with the all-new XF - a four door, five passenger car that has the heart of a sports car and the looks of a grand tourer.  Like the XK, XF is visually striking and thrilling to drive," says Mike O'Driscoll, Managing Director of Jaguar Cars.

"We're very pleased with the reaction the car has received, and our customer order bank is growing fast.  We're grateful to What Car? for this wonderful award."

Yey to Jaguar!

Which Is A Better "Used" Car?

So you are finally settled on buying a used car. But which is a better used car?

In purchasing a used car, it is best to choose a dealer with Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) used car program. These programs, which are operated jointly by the manufacturer and the dealer, guarantee the vehicle's quality, condition, and future long life of the car, pickup, crossover, or sport utility you like.

AOL Autos has provided salient considerations in choosing a used car:

Inspection and warranty
Although the content and extent of each brand's certified pre-owned program varies, one of the constants is the complete vehicle inspection offered by every program. Though the number of items - or points - inspected on the vehicle varies from 100 to 300, as a consumer you should feel comfortable knowing that everything important on the car was inspected by the dealer, under the guidelines of the manufacturer, and the worn or bad parts were replaced, if necessary, before the vehicle was put into the program.

Aside from the inspections, the length and coverage of the certified-vehicle warranty also varies from program to program, and the buyer should make absolutely sure that the original manufacturer is offering the warranty, as opposed to a third-party or extended-warranty company. Depending on a vehicle's age, condition and mileage, it may in fact be cheaper to buy an uncertified used car from a dealer and then purchase a separate extended warranty for the vehicle.

The CPO bumper-to-bumper warranties can be a bit complicated so be sure to do your homework and become familiar with all the ins-and-outs.

You also get perks
Beyond the usual vehicle inspection thoroughness and the length of the certified-vehicle warranty, the various manufacturers and dealers offer a large menu of extras on their certified pre-owned vehicles as enticements to a deal.

Is it worth it?
Due to the costs involved in the inspection, certification and warranties process, a certified used car will almost always be more expensive than a normal used car or one from a private party out of the classifieds. How much more? From 2-8% higher, according to Kelley Blue Book research.

Actually, you can have the best used car deal with all the perks and significant auto features and offers at a much cheaper price. Just do your homework.
